Catherine Marker, 38 year old mum, chauffeur(!) and part-time Administration Assistant from Leeds wrote this letter a few days before her follow up session* in May 2006 – 6 weeks after having three, weekly sessions with Julie.
Dear Julie,
Looking forward to seeing you again on Wednesday to "top up".
I’m coping fine, just about done the stone now, so am pleased with the steady progress. I’ve never lost that sort of weight without being ill before! And it’s never stayed off before! More importantly to me, though, is the fact that I’m sat wearing a pair of jeans that have been sat in the wardrobe since I don’t know when. I nearly put them in a charity bag last year as I could barely get them over my hips, and the chances of ever doing them up again seemed – well – slim!! Now they not only do up, but they stay done up after my dinner, and are 2 sizes smaller than a pair I bought just before Christmas!!
I feel so much more in control. I hardly drink in comparison to before we met – I no longer need it to help me relax. I exercise more – little and often, which fits in with the family routine of three young children. And I don’t permanently think about food. Quite often at work these days I realise it’s 3 or 4 o’clock and I haven’t stopped for lunch yet.
Food doesn’t rule my life anymore. I am much healthier and feel much happier for it. I don’t feel like I’ve given anything up, I’m just getting on with my life. I know I still have a long way to go as far as weight loss goes, but have achieved more in 2 months than in years. No longer the “put another half stone on this year” – I’ve already lost 2 years worth of gained weight. I know that I can achieve my target. I feel really empowered. Before I used to think “ok it’s time to diet”, but would feel so daunted – and immediately obsessed by food. It was like setting off to climb Mount Everest wearing your swimsuit – Mission Impossible. Now I have all the right gear and the map, and I’m off.
Thank you so much – I wish I’d done this with hypnosis years ago. It’s been one of the best investments I’ve ever made and I would recommend it to any and everyone.
